Wow! What an interesting read! You gained a lot of insight throughout this whole process.
I truly do admire how you changed many aspects of your health in very little time! I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and am now even more motivated to put movement and change my eating habits to live a healthier life. After all, there are so many benefits, even if it doesn’t have the same outcome as you, I still “win” because I am living the life I want 🥰
Thank you. My story is told here through the lens of type 2 diabetes, but the changes I have made have indeed moved me closer to a life I want to inhabit anyway. I believe you've correctly identified the "win" for us in that bigger sense. Wish you well with your journey.
Thank you so much for letting us know your experience. I have just been diagnosed and I 'm depressed about it. Your path has given me hope to be my 'healthier self'. I have found medical support lacking - especially in psychological support. Even if I do not reach the success that you have had, l now feel more able to start a more positive path. Thank you, and may you have continued good health.
Thank you. I felt the same way at diagnosis. Having some way forward on which to focus helped me with the physocholigical impact. I am pleased my experience has given you hope and wish you a positive journey ahead.
Fascinating. I've been living with my diagnosis now for 18 years. The only thing that helped me reduce both blood sugar levels, and weight, is to follow an approach very similar to yours.
I have now completely cut out starches - so no potatoes, pasta, rice, and no bread. I was eating so-called healthy bread, and it was just an excuse to cover it with butter, cheeses, jam etc, so this year I finally stopped it. Gave up alcohol 4 years ago. I'm veggie but not vegan - I rely on fish and eggs for protein.
No fruit except blueberries on 3 days a week. Tomatoes (fruit) are my friends!
I went low carb high fat to lose the weight, and it worked fine, except then the D2 Nurses pestered me to take Statins, which I refused ( in writing)!
Thankfully it's now warming up ( at last) in the UK after our usual 6 month winter. So I will be out walking 3 times a week now for the next 6 months!
I'm hoping for good results at my annual checkup in November.
Thank you for your honesty - we need to take control of our health back.

Thanks for sharing. Insightful for those of us more recently diagnosed.
Have a wonderful summer walking in the nicer weather - it will no doubt help with health in all sorts of ways.
Thank you . So many parallels with my own journey with type 2 following diagnosis earlier this week .
